Per doctor or per clinic? Work out what you will really pay.

The same software can cost three times as much depending on how it is counted. How the pricing units work, four example clinics priced side by side, and a calculator for your own team.

The HealthRich team ·

We make HealthRich, which is priced per clinic, so we have a side in this. That is why every competitor figure below comes from the vendor’s own price page, as it read on 8 October 2026, linked at the foot.

Four ways clinic software is counted

  • Per doctor (or per practitioner). Each doctor is a separate charge. Clinicea prices this way.
  • Per seat. Doctors and staff are both charged, at different rates. Eka Care’s Doc Plus covers 1 doctor and 2 staff; each extra doctor is ₹16,999 a year and each extra staff seat ₹8,000.
  • Per care centre, up to a number of users. Healthray covers up to 10 users per centre, doctors and staff together.
  • Per clinic, up to a number of doctors, staff unlimited. This is how HealthRich is priced.

Some vendors publish a price without saying which of these it is. HealthPlix’s pricing page does not say whether its price is per doctor or per clinic; a third-party write-up says per doctor. Where that happens below, we show both readings.

The same clinic, four very different bills

Here are four common OPD teams, priced for one year on each vendor’s cheapest published route. “Staff” means everyone else who logs in: reception, the pharmacist, the owner.

Yearly price for four example clinic teams, before GST
SoftwareSolo doctor, 1 receptionist2 doctors, 2 staff3 doctors, 4 staff, pharmacy5 doctors, 8 staff, pharmacy
HealthRich₹11,988Essential₹11,988Essential₹23,988Plus₹47,988Premium
Eka Care₹16,999₹33,998₹77,996₹1,10,999
Clinicea₹23,988₹47,976₹77,952₹1,25,928
Healthray₹30,000₹30,000₹36,000On request
HealthPlix₹12,000₹12,000–24,000₹12,000–36,000₹12,000–60,000

Three things stand out:

  • For a solo doctor, the prices are close. Per-doctor pricing is not a bad deal when there is one doctor and one receptionist.
  • Every extra login costs money on per-seat pricing. Adding a second receptionist or a pharmacist changes the bill on Eka Care, and pushes Healthray towards its 10-user limit.
  • The pharmacy is often an extra. It is an add-on at Eka Care and Clinicea, a higher plan at Healthray, and not on HealthPlix’s public plan table.

  2. Healthray₹36,000Professional, the plan with the pharmacy: one care centre, up to 10 users (you have 7)
  3. HealthPlix Pro₹12,000–36,000₹12,000 if the price is per clinic, ₹36,000 if per doctor; pharmacy not on the public plan table
  4. Clinicea₹77,9523 practitioners × ₹1,999 × 12 + 1 pharmacist × ₹499 × 12 (Starter); the page does not price reception logins
  5. Eka Care₹77,996Doc Plus ₹16,999 (1 doctor, 2 staff) + 2 doctor seats × ₹16,999 + 2 staff seats × ₹8,000 + pharmacy from ₹10,999

A year, before 18% GST, from each vendor’s published price page. “Other staff” means everyone else with a login: reception, pharmacist, owner.

What to check in the small print

  1. Who counts as a doctor? Ask whether a visiting consultant who comes twice a week needs a full doctor seat.
  2. Are reception and pharmacy logins charged? And what happens when a receptionist leaves and a new one joins?
  3. What happens at the limit? When you add one doctor beyond your plan, do you pay for one more seat or move up a whole plan?
  4. How is a second branch counted? As a new clinic, a new centre, or more seats?
  5. Is the pharmacy priced per pharmacist, per clinic or by plan?
  6. Are add-ons charged per seat? WhatsApp, the patient app or AI features can be priced per doctor even when the base plan is not.

Where HealthRich fits

HealthRich is priced per clinic: each plan covers a number of doctors, and every member of staff gets a login at no extra cost. The pharmacy and WhatsApp from your clinic’s own number come with Plus. Per-clinic pricing does not always win: for a solo doctor without a pharmacy, the published prices are close.

Questions

Your questions, answered.

What is per-clinic pricing?
One price for the whole clinic, usually up to a number of doctors, with staff logins included. Adding a receptionist or a pharmacist costs nothing; adding doctors beyond the limit moves you to a bigger plan or adds a charge.
Do receptionists and pharmacists need a paid login?
It depends on the vendor. Eka Care includes 2 staff with its Doc Plus plan and charges ₹8,000 a year for each extra staff seat; Healthray counts everyone towards 10 users per centre; HealthRich includes every staff login. Ask before you compare.
Which is cheaper for a solo doctor?
For one doctor and one receptionist the published prices are close: HealthRich Essential and HealthPlix Pro are both about ₹12,000 a year before GST. The gap opens as you add doctors, staff or a pharmacy.
Does each branch count as a separate clinic?
At HealthRich, yes: a branch is a location with its own queue, token counter, bill series and letterhead. Other vendors count centres or clinics in their own way, so check how they treat a second location.
Are these prices with GST?
No. Every figure in this guide is before 18% GST, as the vendors publish them.
